
Andreas Hopfgarten
Andreas Hopfgarten (b. 1987) is a German visual artist based in Reykjavik. His research-based practice examines how personal and collective histories converge and are actively shaped. He investigates how historical narratives are fabricated and instrumentalized, working across photography, intuitive storytelling, film, sculpture, and installation. His work has been presented internationally in museums, galleries, and festivals, and he has received recognitions such as gute aussichten, the Claussen-Simon Fellowship, and FUTURES Nordic Talent.
